Looking ahead to our Brands Hatch GP round...

03 August 2022

The historic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit hosts the fifth round of Trackday Championship in 2022. With its rich heritage and challenging layout, Brands Hatch GP is a favourite for many of our TDC drivers and there’s a palpable buzz surrounding the paddock ahead of this summer visit.

Drivers and machinery will be put through their paces at one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues, all while trying to maximise their points for the championship standings. The difficult opening to the lap will test even the most experienced of competitors, with the notorious Paddock Hill Bend providing a distinct challenge. Alongside the tricky corners and fast woodland straights there’s a whole load of joy for competitors to experience and this is the reason the circuit is as popular as it is with both two and four wheeled drivers.

For an in-depth view of the GP circuit, read our ‘In Focus’ article here.

A truly thrilling finish to the latest round of TDC at Snetterton, saw Tylah Motorsport’s John Lyne claim Class B victory by the very narrowest of margins over Apple Car Centre’s Jordan Honeybone. The victory extended Tylah Motorsport’s lead at the top of the championship standings and the chasing pack will have to be at their best if they want to reduce the deficit at Brands Hatch.

Other teams who will hope to replicate their Snetterton success at Brands Hatch are Mangoes Racing and Fiesta_ClubRacer, who secured the top steps of the Class C and D podiums respectively. We continue to witness strong performances throughout the grid and, with the championship standings edging closer to conclusion, we expect nothing but a highly competitive race in Kent.
