The second round of the 2026 Trackday Championship (TDC) season takes place on Saturday 9 May, when Cadwell Park hosts a competitive three-class grid of teams aiming for podium trophies and valuable championship points.
At the season opener at Snetterton in March, TDC debutant Michael Rawlings made an immediate impression. The Paddock Performance Racing driver secured the Class B victory after a closely fought, race-long battle with Matt Swaffer of Swaffer Racing, setting the tone for what promises to be another gripping season.
Snetterton also proved successful for MCS Racing’s Nathan McPhail and Boreham Motorsport’s Jack Hargraves, who claimed the Class C and D honours respectively. Both return to the grid in Lincolnshire and will be looking to replicate their early-season form, though they face strong competition across both classes.
Amongst those in Class C is the father and son duo of Phil and James Hart (Harts Racing), as well as Stephen Docker (Independent) and Wayne Cockerill (Aindale Racing). Meanwhile, the likes of Alister Esam (BC Cars Motorsport), Steven Orant (STAL Powered by Racing) and Brace/Ratford (ASBO Motorsport) will be pushing for the Class D podium.
There are plenty of other contenders who will be eying up success across the three classes and it’s set to be a fascinating encounter.
Cadwell Park has a long-standing reputation for producing closely contested, entertaining racing. Last year’s TDC visit saw just 0.254 seconds separate the eventual winners Wright/Wright (Team Air Supply) from runners-up Wright/Glover (Clubracer), with Nicole Drought (Motion Motorsport) finishing only 3.202 seconds behind in third.
The circuit features a range of steep elevation changes, tight bends and sudden changes in direction for drivers to contend with, including the iconic ‘Mountain’ section of track. It demands adaptability from each competitor and rewards those who display the best race craft. While there’s plenty of challenges, there’s plenty in the way of reward and enjoyment and it’s shaping up to be another great trip to Cadwell Park.
