The story of Class D so far in 2025!

22 September 2025

There’s only two rounds left of Trackday Championship remaining in 2025, with a debut at Croft next up on Saturday 18 October and the season finale on the iconic Brands Hatch Indy circuit following on Saturday 15 November.

As part of the build-up to the remaining races, TDC is taking a closer look at how the year has gone in each of its three classes, to reminisce over standout performances and outline who is in contention to finish at the top of the standings.

First up… Class D!

Through the opening five rounds of the season, an impressive seven different teams have finished on the Class D podiums, highlighting the competitiveness of the class.

Independent Stephen Docker has been the standout competitor to date, claiming the class victory on four separate occasions. As a result, the Mazda MX-5 driver paves the way at the top of the class standings with an impressive 105 points. Docker will be aiming to keep up his rich vein of form in the final two rounds to claim his first Trackday Championship Class Title.

Enhanced Motorsport’s James Howells has also enjoyed a successful season, with the highlight likely being his well-earned class victory in tricky conditions at Donington Park. Howells currently sits as Docker’s closest challenger in the standings and will be looking to make inroads into the points deficit, while also keeping an eye on Mk4 MX-5 driver Steven Orant (STAL Powered for Racing).

Orant finds himself third in the standings, following an impressive run of three consecutive podium finishes in the previous three races. The #56 driver will be looking to keep up the hot streak into the final two rounds to continue mounting his challenge on the two cars currently ahead in the standings.

Outside of the afore-mentioned three teams, there are plenty of others who will look back fondly on strong performances this season.

BC Cars Motorsport teammates Alister Esam and Colin Wells recorded podium finishes at Cadwell Park and Silverstone respectively, while James Burnham (Greenstar Racing) and the father and son duo of Ashley and Robert Hornigold (A.L.E Racing) finished on the podium at the Snetterton season opener.

Which drivers will finish on the Class D podium after TDC’s first-ever race at Croft, and which teams will end the season in the top three of the standings?

We look forward to finding out!
