The ever-popular Trackday Championship makes a return to UK circuits next month and anticipation couldn’t be higher!
A large number of competitors have already registered for the upcoming season, including a varied mix of both TDC veterans and newcomers. While the championship regulars will all be looking to improve on past results, each newcomer will be keen to make their own mark on the championship standings. Reigning Class C and Overall Champion Stewart Donovan will be amongst those returning, with the Se7en Motorsport’s driver having already outlined his intentions to retain his title. It’ll be no easy feat for Donovan to retain his title though, as the competitiveness of the TDC field was made abundantly clear throughout the 2023 season. Only one thing’s for certain – it should make for a great year of racing!
The 2024 season is set to span seven rounds, with each circuit offering its own unique blend of thrills and challenges for competitors. Two circuits will welcome Trackday Championship for the first time this year; Lydden Hill and Circuito De Navarra in Spain. The inclusion of the latter has caused considerable stir, as it’ll be the first time TDC has race abroad since 2019. The opportunity to race in Europe is not one that comes around often for competitors and it’ll be fascinating to see which teams and drivers are the first to take to the TDC class podiums in Spain! The highly sought-after Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit features once more, while both Donington Park and Cadwell Park return to the lineup following a year absence.

Trackday Championship retains it’s popular and proven weekend format in 2024, with a 25-minute qualifying session preceding a 45-minute race. All the action takes place on a single day to help reduce overnight costs. The mandatory two-minute pit stop in each race means the opportunity to race as a two driver team remains facilitated, so competitors can split both the costs and fun if desired. Three classes of production saloon, hatchback, and sports cars are welcome, with an upper power-to-weight limit of 175bhp/tonne.
The TDC website, www.trackdaychampionship.com, will continue to be your go-to hub for everything this season – whether it be: previews, results, race galleries or more. Race reports posted after the event will give competitors the chance to relive the action, while the Championship Standings will keep you regularly updated with who is vying for Championship glory.
