Looking ahead to Round Six...

30 August 2022

Donington Park is set for a decisive round of Trackday Championship action, with the Leicestershire circuit hosting the penultimate round of the 2022 season. It’s been a year that has offered plenty both on and off the track and we eagerly anticipate another thrilling battle for the class podiums this time out.

The Leicestershire circuit boasts an array of difficult corners, along with fast flowing bends and surging straights. The challenge of Donington Park starts immediately from the off, as the often unforgiving Redgate proceeds the high-speed Hollywood and the infamous Cramer Curves. When got right, drivers will be rewarded with a fantastic feeling knowing they’ve given themselves the perfect start to the lap.

Using the Grand Prix configuration will also offer competitors the test of mastering the tricky Melbourne Hairpin, along with the slow left-hander Goddard’s.

Donington Park remains one of the highest-regarded circuits for drivers and one that offers something special to all those who compete on it – whatever their experience level. Given the stage of the season we’re at, the battle for each and every point has gained a little more importance and this should result in a truly, gripping race in the East Midlands.

Current championship leader John Lyne (Tylah Motorsport #71) recorded an impressive fourth victory of the season last time out at Brands Hatch, extending his points advantage in the process. In fact, the Kent circuit proved fruitful to all those who were leading the standings, as Abbitt Motorsport and Fiesta_ClubRacer both secured victory in Class C and D respectively.

Despite the championship leaders all taking the flag first at Brands, there was no shortage of overtaking and close battling throughout the field and we’re all excited to see more of the same at Donington.
